Title: A Study on the Impact of Social Media on Mental Health

Introduction:

The use of social media has become increasingly prevalent in recent years, with people spending an average of 3.5 hours per day on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. While social media has many benefits, such as providing access to information and connecting people, it has also been associated with negative consequences, including increased anxiety, depression, and loneliness. This study aims to investigate the impact of social media on mental health, using a mixed-methods approach.

Methods:

This study will be conducted as a qualitative research study using a purposive sample of participants. Participants will be recruited through online and offline channels, including social media platforms and research databases. The sample will be diverse in terms of age, gender, and social media usage habits.

Data collection will be conducted through in-depth interviews, focus groups, and observation. The interviews will be conducted with a purposive sample of participants who have shown interest in the topic and who have a good level of understanding of social media usage. The focus groups will be conducted with participants who are in their late 20s to early 30s and who use social media regularly. The observation will be conducted with participants who are in their early 20s and who use social media regularly.

Data analysis will be conducted using thematic analysis, which will involve identifying and coding themes that emerge from the data. The findings of the study will be presented in the form of a qualitative report, which will include a discussion of the data and a presentation of the main findings.

Conclusion:

This study will provide valuable insights into the impact of social media on mental health. The findings of the study will have important implications for social media policy and for the development of strategies to promote mental health and well-being. The study will also contribute to the existing body of research on social media and mental health, and will provide a basis for further research in this area.
